Christine Yu, M.D., is Vice President, Development, at Hurley Consulting. She is board certified with over 11 years experience in all drug development phases. Dr. Yu has experience in many therapeutic areas including metabolic heart disease, heart failure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
Dr. Yu leads all consulting projects and management of clinical programs. These responsibilities include strategy development, design and oversight of clinical programs, and clinical documentation preparation to support investigational drug applications, marketing applications and meetings with health authorities.
Before joining Hurley Consulting, Dr. Yu was Unit Clinical Leader in Global Development at Sanofi where she was responsible for the strategy and tactics of the development of several novel compounds. She played a critical role in the interaction with regulatory agencies (FDA, EMA, BfArM, and CFDA); all have led to successful outcomes. Prior to Sanofi, Dr. Yu was at Eli Lilly where she started her career in the industry. She received increasing responsibilities while at Lilly and has championed indications new to the company. She led cross functional teams and achieved multiple milestones in drug development.
Dr. Yu holds a medical degree from the University of South Florida. She also holds masters degrees in biostatistics and business administration, both from Columbia University. She was a resident at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, and a research scientist at the University of Florida. She is licensed by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the State of New York. Prior to her work in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Yu was an attending physician at a private medical practice in New York City.
